national mission for empowerment of women an initiative of government of india was launched on 8th march 2010. the purpose of the mission is to empower women who constitute 48% of the population of the country, socially and economically so that they become an integral part of the nation building process. promoting all round empowerment of women including physical, mental, social, economic and political development would be the ultimate aim of the mission.
