blagdan gospe od anđela (2. kolovoza) je i dan potpunog oprosta, tzv. porcijunkulskog oprosta. na ovaj dan u svim franjevačkim crkvama diljem svijeta vjernici mogu dobiti porcijunkulski ili potpuni oprost od vremenitih kazni. oprost vjernici mogu dobiti od 1. kolovoza u podne do 2. kolovoza u ponoć ako se ispovjede, pričeste, pohode franjevačku crkvu ili župu te izmole vjerovanje, oče naš i pomole se na nakanu svetoga oca.potpuni oprost je godine 1216. sv. franjo izmolio od pape honorija iii., koji je odredio posebni oprost svima onima koji pohode crkvicu porcijunkulu. oprost je prvotno bio vezan uz pohod porcijunkuli, ali kasnije se proširio na sve franjevačke crkve.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------najljepši se pogled na porcijunkulu pruža iz asiza, s trga sv. klare. pred vama se otvara velika i široka duga dolina, plodna umbrija. i tu, pod asizom, u srcu mjestanca, koje po njoj nosi svoje ime santa maria degli angeli – sveta marija anđeoska, diže se velebna bazilika. podignuta je po želji svetoga pape pija v., prije dominikanca, da pod vignolinom kupolom (mlađom sestrom one michelangelove) zakrili najdražu franjinu crkvicu. bazilika je građena između 1569. i 1679. godine. papa sv. pijo x. podiže je na čast papinske bazilike s naslovom: «majka i glava svih crkava franjevačkoga reda.» uputite li se s trga sv. klare, stići ćete onamo laganim hodom za tri četvrt sata (3-4 km).u ono su doba ondje imali svoj «posjedić» (portiuncula, lat. čestica) benediktinci s brda monte subasio nad asizom. rado su ga, možda već godine 1210., ustupili franji i njegovoj braći. kao znak da to uživaju tek kao dar, za priznavanje vlasništva, braća su im svake godine o blagdanu sv. benedikta donosila košaricu riba, a redovnici su im uzvraćali bačvicom svetohranišnoga ulja (sp 8).i tu je crkvicu, nakon svetoga damjana, franjo popravio u prvom žaru svoga obraćenja. tu je doživio i
